David Minor
Faculty Advisor

David Minor is the William M. Dickey Entrepreneur in Residence and the founding Director of the Neeley Entrepreneurship Program at Texas Christian University. Prior to joining TCU, Minor was the President and CEO of Minor's Landscape Services, a company he founded in 1980, which became an INC 500 award winning enterprise and one of the largest and most respected of its kind in the United States. In 1998, David sold his business and teamed with ServiceMaster, Inc. to consolidate the industry nationwide. As a Vice President of this newly formed division, David helped lead the acquisitions and integration efforts of over $550 million in division revenues.

David joined TCU in 2000 as the founding Director of the Neeley Entrepreneurship Program. By the summer of 2004, this program had been recognized by both US News and World Report and Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the top 20 entrepreneurship programs in the country, and given the prestigious NASDAQ Center of Entrepreneurial Excellence Award. David was also named one of the top ten program directors in the country by Entrepreneur Magazine in 2004.

In addition to overseeing all of the activities of the Neeley Entrepreneurship Program, David teaches a course to TCU students titled "Managing the Emerging Venture" and another to existing business owners titled "Growing Your Business". He continues to invest in businesses through his company Minor and Associates, Inc. and frequently speaks at conferences and seminars across the country.


Brad Hancock
Faculty Advisor

Brad  is the Assistant Director of the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center at Texas Christian University.  Brad graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.B.A. in 1979 and earned his M.B.A from Columbia University in 1983.

 After completing graduate school, Brad worked as a management consultant for nearly 10 years consulting primarily with Fortune 500 firms.  Consulting assignments were typically in the areas of strategy, operations management, white-collar productivity and process improvement. 

 

From 1993 until 2006, Brad was a small business owner and entrepreneur.  He was the owner of franchised Sylvan Learning Centers which consistently performed in the top quartile of all Sylvan centers nationwide.  After selling his Sylvan centers in 2000, Brad launched Paragon Senior Care - a company providing non-medical care-giving services to older adults.  In 2005, Paragon was a finalist for Small Business of the Year sponsored by the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce.  Brad sold Paragon in late 2005 to a large publicly traded corporation.

 

In addition to working with the center director, David Minor, to manage activities of the center, Brad teaches a course titled, “Ventures in Transition” which addresses many issues that are likely to affect an entrepreneurial venture as it matures. The focus of the course is on how to effectively manage the growth of an entrepreneurial venture so that it becomes a professionally managed firm without sacrificing the unique entrepreneurial spirit that inspired the company in the first place.

 

Brad is active in the Rotary Club of Fort Worth, serves on the Program and Services Committee of the North Central Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and sits on several committees and boards of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth.


Randy Eisenman
Entrepreneurship Advisor

Randy Eisenman serves as president and chief executive officer of Handango, which he founded in February 1999. His charter is to broaden Handango's leadership in the phone and handheld software market, set the company's strategy, drive operational excellence and continue to nurture the growth and success of Handango.

Prior to founding Handango, Mr. Eisenman led the venture capital division of Q Investments, L.P., the multi-billion dollar private investment firm that incubated Handango. Mr. Eisenman currently serves as a partner at Q Investments.

In an earlier position, Mr. Eisenman worked as a financial analyst for Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the Principal Investments Area, which manages the personal capital of the firm's partners. During his tenure at Goldman, Mr. Eisenman focused on technology and media investment opportunities, which would prove valuable in implementing his vision for Handango. He also worked as a financial analyst at Bear Stearns and HBK Investments, a limited partnership associated with Richard Rainwater.

Mr. Eisenman holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Texas where he graduated summa cum laude from the Business Honors Program. He is actively involved in the Entrepreneur's Organization (EO) and the West Texas Chapter of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and serves on the Board of Advisors for the TCU Neeley Entrepreneurship Program.



Ash Ryan Huzenlaub
Alumni Advisor

Ash R. Huzenlaub is the Managing Director of Ashco Group, LLC, a firm that through investor sponsorship, participates in board representation, the acquisition and development of new enterprises, serves as interim management, and aids in the turnaround of distressed business situations. From 2002-2006, Mr. Huzenlaub was installed by investors as the turnaround Chairman and CEO of Emergisoft Corporation, an emergency room software company he, through investors, initiated taking private. During his tenure, both the revenues and client base of the business more than tripled while operating costs were reduced by 40%. By 2006, the company was contracted to process the electronic emergency room medical records of over 800,000 patients a year in hospital systems from California to New York. Prior to Emergisoft, Mr. Huzenlaub worked with Berlwood Five Ltd, a Texas based private equity investment partnership.

Mr. Huzenlaub holds a bachelors of business administration degree in Finance & Marketing with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship from Texas Christian University. While at TCU, Huzenlaub devised "The Independent Study of Entrepreneurship", served as President of The Financial Management Association, was a 4 year Track & Field Letterman, a two time recipient of the Chancellor's Leadership Award, and initiated the discussions which led to the development of the Neeley Entrepreneurship Program. Today, Mr. Huzenlaub is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Neeley Entrepreneurship Program and is actively involved with the Texas Youth Entrepreneurship of the Year Awards Program. He and his wife, Christina live near Seattle, Washington where he is a member of the Northwest Entrepreneurs Network.
